The AJFC Treasurer is a pivotal position within the committee and one that is essential to both a successful and financial club. The role includes but is not limited to the controlling of expenditure throughout year, setting budgets and counting money. As much, or as little as you can give is all that we ask. A sound knowledge of spreadsheets and minimal book-keeping skills would be beneficial. Ongoing assistance and a full handover will be offered.

Junior to Senior: Congrats to Thomas Langham & Tyson Roache!!

From Junior to Senior

A number of our junior players will join the Senior Club next season

as Under 19 players. We wish them all luck and will be cheering them

on from the sidelines next season, and for many more to come!

Altona Junior Football Club congratulates Thomas Langham and

Tyson Roache who have played all their junior football for the

Vikings! Both players started as 7 year olds in 2007. And have been

teammates ever since.

Thomas (136 games) and Tyson (138 games) have always shown the

true Viking spirit. They have both made a big contribution to the

club over the last 10 seasons.

“Tommy Langham and Tyson Roache, are both fine young men who

have a passion for the game. Both are popular with their teammates.

Tommy, the captain, is a hard as nails midfielder who trains and

plays with high intensity and is a lovely long kick. Tyson’s a bit more

of a laid back character who seems to have time when he has the ball

and is a good user of the ball. Both have been a pleasure to coach.”

Michael “Kit” Cassidy (Under 17A coach)

Congratulations and all the best from the Altona Junior Football Club!

Then and now...

Footys4all: Boots for UGandan Orphans

Boots for UGandan Orphans

Hi all, volunteer founding director of Footys4all, Michael Gallus is asking for parents and players to donate their football boots to the orphans in UGandan.

If you have boots that you would like to donate, please contact Bree on 0417471104.

For more information on this great cause, please see the following message from Michael:

Hello, my name is Michael Gallus and I am asking for your help as the volunteer founding director of Footys4all as a friend of mine called BYARUGABA UKA HADD of UGANDA Africa, from the village of NAMUTUMBA, contacted me asking if we could send him football boots for the 160 orphans he teaches and coaches in soccer.

As you can see below these children have very little in the way of food and water, never the less sporting equipment and uniforms and boots. With our junior AFL season ending we are asking you to donate your throughly cleaned boots so that your sporting journey can be continued in Africa with children who are not as lucky as ourselves. Your support is much appreciated.
